Annie

The opening night of Annie at The Regent Centre was brilliant, it felt like we had been whisked away to the West End! The Highcliffe Charity Players fail to disappoint and the standard of singing and acting from everyone was very high.

Lucy-May Alner plays Annie beautifully, she has real stage presence and a wonderful voice as well as a great guide to Tumble who plays Sandy the dog and steals the hearts of the audience.

All the children playing the orphans in the show have obviously worked very hard to produce such a professional group, but we must mention Isobel Aldred age 8 who plays Molly so sweetly.

David Coward plays Oliver Warbucks and Tracey Challen is Miss Hannigan and both play their parts brilliantly, we loved the enthusiasm by all of the cast and it was great to see Emma Torrens back at The Regent Centre as Grace Farrell.

Quote from my 7 yr old reviewer: "It was amazing, it made me cry! I loved it, when can we see it again?"

Competition !!

Win  a pair of tickets to see Annie at The Regent Centre Christchurch

Award-winning Highcliffe Charity Players return with their latest keenly anticipated musical - the legendary Broadway and West End smash hit, Annie. Based on a popular American comic strip, this irresistible family show tells the enchanting story of little orphan Annie - and her lovable dog, Sandy. Its a heart-warming rags-to-riches journey set during the Depression. Abandoned on the steps of a New York orphanage run by the tyrannical Miss Hannigan, plucky Annie discovers a happier life when she is selected to spend a short time in the luxurious residence of wealthy industrialist Oliver Warbucks. But Miss Hannigan and her evil brother have other plans for Annie... With a cast that features a number of talented children (plus a cute dog) and a score that includes such memorable hits as Tomorrow, its little wonder that Annie has proved such an enduring family favourite.
